9 MONTH OF VACATION – THE ADVENTURE HAS STARTED

Yes, the adventure has started.
After a quite hectic year at work I decided to join my boyfriend on his world trip.
I did like my job but it’s true that the past year was a bit hectic and intense in terms of working hours and commitment. That’s maybe the reason why I thought that I should rather go travelling with my him than watching his pictures and regretting my choise of staying.
And since July 2014 I have been officially on my sabbatical leave for 9 months.
This radical change comes with some real differences in life. Ususally my day has been planned through and quite often with a flexiblity of about 30 mins. Of course I was responsable myself for the planning but I did well adapt the standards which I have seen around me:  avoid traffic jam to the office and leave home around 6:30am, starting work and preparing for the meeting marathon of the day, rushing to a squash session, coming home to eat and to sleep and so on. And now: my agenda shifted from an hourly planning to a daily or even weekly planning. Weired enough my feeling for puntuality also shifted from a couple of minutes to even days sometimes. It’s a feeling I have difficulties to discribe as I have never felt it before but certainly a feeling of freedom.

During the first 2 months I planned to take time for David’s and my family.
For the remaining 7 months I am slightly unorganised. And that’s what I meant earlier and it’s true that it makes me a bit more nervous. At least, I have booked my flight to Ecuador where I will go on my own in September. So I’ll be going for sue but it was planned that I will meet up David somewhere in October. South America is quite big so we should agree at least on the same country.
So here we are … plenty of ideas and time but difficulties to decide what and when. I’ll certainly keep track of my journeys in this blog.  And I am curious myself, how this will work out.
And yes, despite all what I said in France about moving to a foreign country again and learning a new language: all wrong. I started to learn Spanish. It seems that language number 4 exceeds the storage capacity of my brain. It looks hopeless. On the other hand, Spanish seems to be a nice mix of French and a bit of English sometimes. No way that I will give up… I still have 1 month time to learn some words and phrases…
This is my first blog and I hope that people who have asked for it won’t be disappointed. My first travel experience will be Norway … so here we go.
Have a good read.
