It’s snowing onto my tent. I’m opening the zipper and gaze into a low evening sun, yet thin frozen water-crystals blow into my face. Its the end of May and I’m at 850m. The place is called Beitost\u00f8len, a ski resort at the southern edge of the Jotunheimen Nasjonalpark. I’ve been here for many hours already. The bad weather conditions didn’t allow me to continue, so I’m waiting for the next day, to take a mountain pass that will lead me up to 1400m. I’m expecting walls of snow to either side of the road, but it should be doable with a little bit of sunshine.
\nUntil then I’ve got to handle one cold night up here with about -2\u00b0C. That’s naturally out of my comfort zone and my sleeping back thinks the same so I’m playing all the cards I have, wrapped my rain trousers around my sleeping bag to protect it against the wind.
