Coyhaique is the so called capital of Patagonia. At least that’s how locals name the town. Indeed, it’s the capital of Aysen, the 11th region of Chile and from what we have seen so far a beautiful part of Chile without any doubt. The view to the south of Coyhaique resemble quite much of Grenoble. Looking at the far mountains in the west made me feel like standing somewhere in Chambery. And to make the picture complete we stayed via Couchsurfing with a girl with who we even had some time in common living in Chambery. A quite funny coincidence when we even realised that we had some friends in common. The world is really small. Well, a big thanks again to Helene who not only let us stay with her during 3 days but who also shared the passion for good food with us. So yes, we went wild in the super market in Coyhaique spending far too much money and far too much time than planned. It’s hard to describe the happiness of finding Cheddar Cheese and Pumpernickel bread.Another purpose of our stop was to get our bikes repaired, especially my bike rack. David made the effort to call them in advance to ask if they have some good bike racks or weather we should order some to get them delivered from Santiago. Of course they assured us that they had top quality equipment and that everything was available and of course it was not really the case. So we tried to get things repaired as good as possible and it took 3 times as long as we would have expected it as well. In the end we got our bikes back in a much better condition than before and we were more or less comfortable to continue our journey.<\/p>\n
