A very grey Sunday morning, not many people on the streets but still numerous cars overtaking us on the first stretch of our bicycle trip. The road was boring, the green countryside somewhat resembled Germany and didn\u2019t impress us the slightest. My knees were hurting, my bum as well after two hours of cycling. I was worrying about the bike pannier to give up on us on the first bump we would hit. Everything was kinda annoying and I already questioned the tour altogether, the money and time we had put into it. Was I too old for such adventure?<\/p>\n<p>How can a little gap in the cloud cover turn a state of mind by 180 degrees? All of a sudden we enjoyed a beautiful view on one of the distant volcanoes, its snow covered top glowing in the sunlight. Boy, was I happy. There it was, our target for the day and I was sure we would reach it. All sorrows washed away.<\/p>\n<p>Later the sun was shining down on us, too. We passed beautiful little dairy farms, all of them with a view of at least one of the three nearby volcanoes. Eventually we arrived at the shore of a huge lake, set up our tent and enjoyed a few sunny hours at the beach.
